Plastics/Packaging Sales Rep

R40K per month basic (negotiable depending on benefits and incentives).

  • Matric   Marketing Diploma. PFSA Materials and Process training courses.

  • 19 years of proven successful sales experience to a wide range of loyal clients, constantly seeking new applications and outlets for his product, building relationships, resolving any issues, achieving profitable turnover.

  • External sales of food grade plastic packaging to manufacturing, thermoplastics & thermosets, sanitaryware, engineering plastics, fibreglass, signage, aluminium, vehicle canopies and industry heating solutions/temperature controls.  Calling on buyers, product managers, production floor supervisors, retail owners and managers.  Ability to quickly absorb and apply product knowledge and applications, source new business, build & maintain relationships.  Accurate reporting, forecasts, negotiation based on volume, consignment stock offtake. Sales from list price and based on GP, special deals, obsolete and general trade small volume stock.  Follow up on collections, opening new accounts, resolving issues including product complaints.  Ensuring client sign off on artwork, colour matches, first off runs new products. Team leader and team worker, regular target achiever.

  • An energetic, motivated personality with great interpersonal skills and good "technical arm" (referee comment).  Afrikaans home language with excellent spoken and written English, computer literate and numerate.  Started his career in internal sales team of aluminum vehicle canopies, recruited by a client to sell engineering plastics, signage, sheets, print requirements.   He moved to into external sales thereafter, mainly in polymer products.   Currently working as an agent selling general trade stock packaging below minimum production run volumes.  He has an extensive client base and is seeking to return to employment with a stable manufacturer.  A family man-manager in his early 40's, owns his Alberton home, travels external extensively when required.  Well organised with his planning, record keeping and reporting, tracking changing market trends, able to mentor juniors.
